Do you ever read Scripture and it speaks to you for what you are needing?

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Im using the KJV because I am most used to this version for this passage.

Today I was needing hope and a message for fear. In thinking about it, I read it like this...

The Lord is here for me. He comforts me, He restores my soul, He leads me through a life of rightousness. But, it appears I will find myself walking down a valley of the shadow of death, which doesn't sound fun, but that I WILL FEAR NO EVIL. Why? Because He is with me. He is our Shepherd, who provides protection for His sheep. He provides guidance for His sheep. Next, we find ourselves in the last place we really want to be. At a banquet of our enemies, but guess what? There is already a table prepared for for me. Which I read today as, I may be expected to go places I may not want to me, but that I still should fear no evil, because If God has prepared a table for me then He is expecting me to be there and I am there for a reason. I am prepared, and blessed. My head is anointed with oil, and my cup is overflowing. Surely, goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life.
